As part of a recent student competition, original visual designs were created to interpret the principles of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) in the context of Železiarne Podbrezová. Through logos, animations, and videos, young authors demonstrated how the graphic language and symbolism can express the three key pillars of corporate responsibility – environmental protection, social engagement, and transparent governance. Each design presents a unique style, a well-thought-out concept, and a distinct approach to visualizing the values that drive modern industry.
A Logo with a Story: ESG Values in Letters

The logo, inspired by the visual identity of Železiarne Podbrezová, connects ESG principles through three letters:
- E with wind turbines and trees symbolizes environmental responsibility.
- S represented through sports illustrates community support and the social dimension.
- G signifies finance, agreement, and equality – referencing ethics and transparency.
The video gradually transitions through each letter with dynamic short clips, showcasing specific company activities in ecology, community support, and fair management.
The ESG Knight – Guardian of Sustainability

This concept is built on the metaphor of a knight as a protector of ESG values:
- E – a plant wrapped around a shield represents the bond between humans and nature.
- S – the armored knight embodies safety and support for people.
- G – the shield stands for stability, control, and responsible decision-making.
A visually strong and easily interpretable symbolism, suitable for both animated and graphic applications.
The Pulse of ESG: Values from the Heart

Dynamic ESG Animations: Stories from the Pipe

A series of four animations, each letter of ESG comes to life inside a steel pipe:
- E – a meadow with a stream and a deer in blooming nature.
- S – a simultaneous view of a football goal and a classroom.
- G – scales balancing products and employees equally.
- Together – a visual fusion of all three pipes into one unified form.
A creative interpretation of ESG themes using animation that links company reality with metaphor in motion.
Additional Student Views on ESG
The competition brought forth even more inspiring concepts, with students from various fields tackling the ESG theme in original ways. They created logos, visuals, and symbols that sensitively combine responsibility toward nature, people, and governance processes. Some designs build on strong metaphors, while others employ minimalist language or industrial elements reflecting the character of Železiarne Podbrezová. Each is a unique expression of a value-driven world, serving as a foundation for a modern and sustainable corporate identity.
