Butt welding elbows are produced by extrusion pressing. The semi-finished product is rolled seamless steel tubes.

Butt-welds are mainly used as part of the construction of pipelines, energy engineering and mining industry.

Exact values are given in relevant standards. Indicative figures are arranged in a table of tolerances.

Testing of butt welding elbows

The input tubes and ready made elbows and are tested in accordance with the requirements of relevant standards.

The elbow ends

The elbows are supplied with smooth, square cut ends.

Upon agreement the elbow ends can be modified for the weld according to following standards:
• EN 10 253
• ASME B16.9
• DIN 2559
• STN, ČSN 13 1075

Packaging of butt welding elbows

The elbows are packed:
(a) in cardboard boxes put on wooden pallets; or
(b) delivered in metal pallets.

Marking of the butt welding elbows

The elbows are supplied with the following markings:
(a) without marking,
(b) with marking the type of steel according to the relevant color standard,
(c) stamping the data according to standards or customer requirements with respect to the space available on the surface of the elbow.

Certificates for butt welding elbows

Butt welding elbows are delivered with certificates according to standards:

EN 10 204,

ASTM A234/A234, A420/A420M,

DIN 50049,

STN/ČSN 42 0165, 42 0250, 42 0251.

Surface protection of butt welding elbows

The elbows are delivered:
(a) without surface preservatives or
(b) surface treated by blasting.

Upon agreement it is possible to have temporarily surface protection by oiling it.

Heat treatment, delivery condition

The elbows produced by hot forming are available without heat treatment, annealing is included in the normalized forming.

Upon agreement the outer surface can be machined by blasting.
