In the Štiavnička residential area, a modern apartment building has been completed, featuring 30 fully equipped units – 16 one-bedroom and 14 two-bedroom apartments. The flats come furnished with a kitchen unit, extractor hood, refrigerator, and are ready for internet connection. They also meet demanding energy efficiency standards – class A0.
Additionally, there are 35 parking spaces, including two reserved for persons with disabilities. The building includes an elevator for people with reduced mobility, shared storage rooms, a laundry room, a drying room, and even 18 solar panels for water heating.

This year, the Podbrezová steelworks celebrates its 185th anniversary. From the very beginning, company leadership understood that providing quality housing for employees is key to sustainable production. From the first “šalandy” (workers’ dormitories) to today’s modern apartments, hundreds of employees have benefited from various types of company housing.
In the past, dozens of apartments have also been created through the reconstruction of older buildings – for example, in 2008 from a former youth dormitory or by renovating the Walter workers’ hostel.
