Oil Country Tubular Goods

Line pipesseamless steel tubes for transportation of flammable fluids are mainly set for high pressure pipelines to deliver gases, oil and other flammable fluids in the mining, chemical and energy industry.

Tubes for casing and tubing are manufactured using the hot rolling process. Semi-finished product used for these tubes is continuously cast blooms. Tubes for casing and tubing are used in the mining industry to obtain crude oil and natural gas.

Testing of tubes for casing and tubing

Tubes are tested according to requirements of API 5CT standard, additional tests can be agreed when ordering the tubes.

Markings of the tubes

(a) marked with colored stripes on the tubes (tube bundles),
(b) marked with spray either by a white or black color using InkJet,
(c) marked by stamping the data (this applies to OD > 22 mm and WT >2.3 mm).

Testing of line pipes

Tubes are tested according to requirements of the appropriate standards.
In all cases the tube leaking test is performed.

Tubes meet the directive requirements NACE MR 0175. covering resistance to acid environment (SSC – Sulfide Stress Cracking).

When ordering the tubes it is possible to agree upon the carbon content value (CEV).

for casing and tubing

Hot rolled tubes do not go through further thermal processing. Tubes surface corresponds to the way they were produced.

Normal annealing (N) may be done after agreement.

for line pipes

Usually the tubes are supplied as hot rolled. Only tubes with DN 6 -10, perhaps tubes of other dimensions are supplied as cold drawn and after forming they are heat treated. This is done as per precious agreement.

The tube surface meets corresponds to the means of manufacturing.

Surface protection for oil tubes

The pipes are supplied without temporary anticorrosion protection.
While ordering, it is necessary to agree upon the method and means of temporarily protecting the surface of the tubes during transportation and storage.
Upon request the tubes may be plugged with plastic caps.
